How do I calculate profit on a XRP trade?
Profit is what you get back minus what you put in, after both fees. Put $1,000 into XRP and you do not end up holding $1,000 worth of it: the exchange takes its cut of the order first, so you hold slightly less. Selling then costs a second fee on the proceeds. The calculator does both legs, so the net P&L is the number that would actually land in your account.
What is a break-even price?
The sell price at which you get back exactly what you paid, fees included. Because you pay a fee going in and another coming out, the break-even price is always above your buy price — with 0.1% each way it sits about 0.2% higher. Anything below it is a loss even if XRP is "up".
Do maker and taker fees change the result?
Yes, often by half. A market order pays the taker rate; a limit order that sits on the book until someone fills it pays the maker rate, which is lower on nearly every exchange and can be zero or even a rebate at high volume. Switching entry and exit between market and limit shows the difference on your own numbers.
Which exchange is cheapest for XRP?
