How is the fee on my trade calculated?
Trading fee = trade size × the maker or taker rate of the tier your 30-day volume puts you in. A market order pays the taker rate, a limit order that rests on the book pays the maker rate. Turning on 'round trip' charges the fee twice, because you pay once to get in and once to get out — that is the number that actually matters when you compare exchanges.
Why does my 30-day volume change the fee?
Almost every exchange runs a VIP ladder: the more you traded in the last 30 days, the lower your rate. We curated the full ladder for 66 exchanges from their official fee pages, so moving the volume slider swaps in the tier you would really be on instead of showing everyone the base rate.
What does 'pay fees in the exchange token' do?
17 exchanges cut your trading fee when you hold and burn their own token for fees — BNB on Binance, GT on Gate, KCS on KuCoin and so on. Ticking that box applies each exchange's published discount, separately for maker and taker where the exchange sets them differently.
Why add a withdrawal fee to a trading fee comparison?
Because it can dwarf the trading fee. On a $1,000 trade a 0.1% fee is $1 — while withdrawing the coin from the wrong exchange can cost several dollars in a flat network fee that does not shrink with your size. We add the cheapest network still open for that coin on each exchange so the ranking reflects the money that actually leaves your account.
Are these fees live?
Trading fees are curated by hand from each exchange's official fee schedule and carry the date we last verified them; withdrawal fees are synced from exchange APIs and converted to USD using the live coin price at page load. Every row links back to the source page so you can check it yourself.
