WHALE trading fees — FAQ

Which exchange has the lowest WHALE trading fee?

MEXC, at 0–0.05% taker and 0% maker on the base tier. Trading fees are charged per order as a percentage of the trade value, so a lower rate matters most if you trade often.

What is the difference between maker and taker fees?

A maker order adds liquidity — it sits on the order book until someone trades against it. A taker order removes liquidity by matching an existing order immediately. Exchanges charge takers more, and some pay makers a rebate. Trading WHALE with limit orders that rest on the book gets you the maker rate.

Can I pay lower fees on WHALE trades?

Yes — 3 of these exchanges cut fees when you pay in their own token (for example MEXC: −20% paying fees in MX). 4 exchanges also run VIP ladders where 30-day volume or token holdings lower your rate.

Do futures fees differ from spot fees on WHALE?

Yes. Perpetual futures are usually cheaper per trade than spot — the lowest base futures taker fee here is 0–0.1% on MEXC — but futures also carry a funding rate paid between longs and shorts every few hours, which is not a fee the exchange keeps.

Fees are the base (non-VIP) rates curated from each exchange’s official fee schedule, last verified 2026-08-28. An exchange appears here when it lists WHALE and publishes a schedule we have curated; open an exchange for its full VIP ladder.
